
We are excited to announce that Juli Wavada has joined Sodexo as the new General Manager 6, overseeing Zag Dining at Gonzaga University.
Julie brings a wealth of experience in hospitality leadership, operations, and team development. Her career spans over a decade of driving performance and innovation across diverse food and beverage environments.
Most recently, Julie served as Director of Operations for HMSHost at Spokane International Airport, where she led ten high-volume locations—including national brands like Starbucks and Burger King. Her leadership was instrumental in post-COVID recovery, expanding operational hours, improving employee retention, and enhancing profitability.
Prior to that, she was Corporate Director of Sales and Catering at Ruby Hospitality, where she developed and implemented company-wide sales programs, training systems, and marketing strategies across multiple properties. Her efforts led to year-over-year revenue growth and strengthened community partnerships.
Julie also held leadership roles at Semiahmoo Resort, Holiday Inn & Suites, and Four Points by Sheraton, where she consistently delivered operational excellence, improved financial performance, and earned recognition for award-winning beverage programs and guest satisfaction. She successfully led openings, remodels, and brand transitions, demonstrating her ability to manage complex projects with precision and creativity.
In addition to her hospitality background, Julie has experience in human resources and legal administration, having served as a HR Specialist and Paralegal Assistant, further enriching her leadership capabilities with a strong foundation in employee relations and organizational support.
Julie’s core strengths include team leadership, financial acumen, process improvement, training and development, human resources, and strategic marketing. She is also deeply committed to community service, having volunteered with organizations such as the Opportunity Council and the Women and Children’s Free Restaurant, supporting workforce re-entry and food security initiatives.
