Meal Plan Overview

Meal Plans are designed to provide access to all-you-care-to-eat meals in the COG, and the Daily Bread Express during a semester. The Meal Plan you choose will provide either unlimited access during specified hours or pre-determined number of meals to use per week or throughout the semester.  The following key pieces of information will help you get the greatest value out of your Meal Plan:

Meal Plan Changes

Each semester students have until 5:00pm on Friday, last day of the first week of class to change their meal plan in Zagweb.
Meal plans cannot be changed or upgraded after 5:00pm on Friday, last day of the first week of class.
The meal plan selected for fall semester will automatically default for spring semester. The meal plan can be changed in Zagweb before 5:00pm on Friday, last day of the first week of class.

Meal Plan Information

  • You must present your ZAGCARD to the cashier to use your Meal Plan or Bulldog Bucks.
  • All meal plans are for the sole use of the card’s owner.  Giving your card to someone else to use for meals is considered fraudulent use of the card and can result in disciplinary action by the University.
  •  Students with unlimited meal plans cannot use meal “swipes” to buy meals for friends.   Bulldog Bucks must be used to purchase meals for others.
  •  Meal plans are designed to provide enough meals and Bulldog Bucks to meet student needs each semester. There is no benefit to holding on to Block meals since they expire.  Make a point to use them throughout each semester to avoid forfeiting them as they are not refundable.
  •  If you are on a Block plan, keep track of how many meals you have available at all times and budget wisely.
  •  Know how many Bulldog Bucks you have available and where/how you can use them.
  •  While dining in the COG, mix and match items from different stations to create the perfect plate for your taste.
  •  When finished with your meal, please return your dishes to the dishwashing window where all food scraps will be composted, and recyclables and any trash will be sorted.
  • Do not remove any dishware, cups, flatware, service items, or equipment from the dining hall.  Replacing “borrowed” dishware is expensive and wasteful.  If you would like to borrow equipment or dishes for a special event, please speak to a Manager to make catering or other arrangements.
  •  A Supervisor or Manager is always on duty and willing to help if you need assistance.
  • It is the policy of Gonzaga University that first and second year students are required to participate in a Resident Meal Plan as part of their agreement to attend GU.  Meal Plan contracts are administered by the Housing Office, and as such are subject to change based on Housing Office policy. By participating in a meal plan, students agree to the terms and conditions listed in this document, as well as the rules and regulations specific to each dining establishment.

Bulldog Bucks Information

*Bulldog Bucks are included with all meal plans.

  • Bulldog Bucks are spent like cash at the following locations: Crosby Café, The Bulldog, Café Lawte, the Marketplace, Margie’s at Tilford's, Panda Express, Einstein Bros. Bagels- Cataldo Hall and Hemmingson Center, Barney’s Café, Duff's Bistro, Starbucks, SubConnection, the Zaggin’ Wagon, Fuel Cell Smoothies and More, and arena concession stands.
  • Bulldog Bucks give you flexibility and convenient access to meals or snacks during all hours of operation, whereas Meal Plan meals must be used for dining in the COG and Daily Bread Express.
  • Meals and Bulldog Bucks are not transferable and can only be used by the owner of the Meal Plan/ZAGCARD.
  • Bulldog Bucks can easily be added to and ZAGCARD.
